FOR RELEASE: Immediately-June 29, 2013

Avalanche Harley Davidson, 8000 W. Colfax in Lakewood, is rallying with local military/veteran support non-profit, Homefront Heroes for a one day drive to benefit those attached to Tinker AFB in Oklahoma who lost everything in two recent tornadoes - the Moore, Oklahoma tornado of May 20th, and another large outbreak of tornadoes on May 31st.
At least 375 families attached to Tinker AFB outside Moore, OK completely lost everything or their homes were deemed unlivable.  Larger organizations have provided food and clothing for these families, but their real needs are now financial.  According to Steven Auld of the Tinker Readiness Fund, these families need prepaid gift cards (i.e. VISA gift cards) to purchase items for daily living (gas, prescriptions, pet food) and to make up the difference between what their insurance will cover and the cost of repairs and replacing other items that won't be donated in-kind. Homefront Heroes will be onsite at Avalanche Harley Davidson on Saturday, June 29th, from noon- 5 p.m.
Auld says that he heard one man say, "I can't even tell you where my house was.  I don't know if this is even my street."
Homefront Heroes is a 501 c 3 non-profit; all donations are 100% tax deductible.  For more information contact Sarah Oakley, Event Coordinator/Avalanche Harley Davidson, 303-238-0425 or Linda Olson Ferguson, Director, Homefront Heroes, 303-523-2971 or olefergie@msn.com
